Entertainment Advice is a specialist Business Affairs media consultancy established by Anthony Hall, a media lawyer with over 25 years of experience in negotiating, drafting and concluding high level television, film, music and general media contracts.
Anthony trained as an English solicitor at renowned media lawyers (Schilling & Lom (now Schillings)) training under Keith Schilling and Nicolas Lom, qualifying as a solicitor in 1997. He then became qualified and admitted as a New York attorney in 2002.
He has worked at the highest levels of the UK and International film and television industry for over 25 years, including being in-house counsel for ITV/Carlton (one of the main three UK broadcasters), All3Media (multinational UK based producer/distributor), the Comedy Central broadcast network (part of the Viacom group) and Entertainment One (an International distributor and producer, now under the Lionsgate group).
In the early 2000's Anthony founded the critically acclaimed independent record label (Pure Mint Recordings) releasing over 35 records with international distribution and licensing. In addition he was a co-opted board member for 2 years sitting on the board of the BPI, and sitting on the International Legal Steering Committee of the IFPI.
In 2019, he moved to Dubai to establish the in-house legal team of MBC Studios. During the course of the last few years he has worked on a multitude of projects, including being the head of legal for MBC's Desert Warrior feature film (budget circa $150m USD) and MBC counsel (and co-executive producer) for MBC's investment in the Gerald Butler/Thunder Road film "Kandahar", as well as steering several multi-million $USD rebate deals in KSA, Abu Dhabi, Canada and others.
In 2023, MBC Studios' legal team was voted the best small in-house legal team in the 2023 Middle East Legal Awards.
Anthony has a rare talent in being able to provide clear concise client advice, coupled with first class negotiation and drafting skills. Originally a classically trained pianist and guitarist, Anthony was signed in the early 90’s with a band in the UK achieving some success in the UK and beyond, and understands the business from both his creative background and his commercial training and expertise. He continues to produce and release new music and enjoys painting, drawing and reading in his spare time.
